On September 16, 2012, the Northampton Genetic Crimes Unit staged a Decontamination Event in downtown Northampton, Massachusetts. They were able to track down the elusive Frank N. Corn and while doing so they made this awesome music video.
This is a Call to Action for a
Non-Hierarchical Occupation of Monsanto Everywhere
Whether you like it or not, chances are Monsanto contaminated the food you ate today with chemicals and unlabeled GMOs. Monsanto controls much of the world's food supply at the expense of food democracy worldwide. This site is dedicated to empowering citizens of the world to take action against Monsanto & it's enablers like the FDA, USDA, EPA, GMA, BIO, and the processed food companies that use Monsanto's products.
This morning Field Agents from the Occupy Monsanto Genetic Crimes Unit staged a demonstration outside of the Republican Party’s headquarters in Washington, DC.
As a part of the Occupy the GMO Candidate national day of action, Field Agents setup outside of the Capitol South Metro Station and greeted Capitol Hill staffers & Republican Party operatives as they arrived for work.
Many people gave thumbs up in approval and quite a few people laughed at the Corn Chimp’s street theater.
Field Agents held up signs & banners, mic-checked Romney for his ties to Monsanto, and asked staffers why Romney chooses to only eat organic food.
Throughout the demonstration there was an undercover police officer sitting in an unmarked car across the street monitoring the demonstration. At around 9:30AM when Field Agents concluded the demonstration and began to take off their costumes, the officer came up to the group and thanked us for our spirited activism. What he said next was rather shocking: he said he used for work for the USDA in the 1990s and that employees worked tirelessly to prevent GMOs from going into the American food supply.
Later today Field Agents will be heading to Democratic Party headquarters to ask why Obama has failed to fulfill his campaign promise to label GMO foods & why he appointed Monsanto lobbyist Michael Taylor to the second highest position at the FDA.

Genetic Crimes Unit Agents Target Romney & Obama Campaign Offices on October 17
Food Activists Demand Candidates Take Position In Favor of GMO Food Labeling Prior to Receiving Support
WASHINGTON, DC – On Wednesday, October 17, 2012, Occupy Monsanto’s field agents with the Genetic Crimes Unit (GCU), a group whose aim is to expose Monsanto’s crimes against farmers, the environment, and human health, will visit both the Republican and Democratic party headquarters in Washington DC. The GCU opposes genetically engineered food (GMOs) and seeks to expose Monsanto’s ties to both parties who have, for too long, protected agribusiness interests over that of the 99% of Americans who want healthy and safe food.
WHO: Occupy Monsanto Agents with the Genetic Crimes Unit
WHAT: Demonstration at Republican and Democratic Party Headquarters
The protests at the two major party headquarters is the 70th Occupy Monsanto demonstration this year. Biohazmat-clad “Agents” have repeatedly addressed Obama’s ties to the GMO debate, pointing out that in his 2007 election bid he promised to have genetically engineered food labeled after being elected.
"We demand that Romney and Obama come clean on their ties to Monsanto and fight for the health of Americans over chemical company profits," said Adam Eidinger. "The fact that FDA Food Safety Czar Michael Taylor, former lobbyist and lawyer for Monsanto, was appointed by Barack Obama to make decisions on food safety is a disgrace," adds Eidinger.
"Mitt Romney has been instrumental to Monsanto’s success, and we have no indication that he will change his ways if elected." Rica Madrid said. Romney’s early consulting for Monsanto was effective in shifting Monsanto’s strategy from a focus on reputation-tarnishing chemical compounds to genetically engineered food and the profitable RoundUp weed killer. Romney was so effective that then-Monsanto CEO John W. Hanley helped him create Bain Capital.
On Wednesday, October 17, one month after the commencement of the Occupy Monsanto Global Week of Action, we are calling for Occupy Monsanto GCU Field Agents across America to stage Decontamination Events at your nearest campaign office of Romney or Obama. For GCU Field Agents located outside of America, we suggest staging another demonstration at your nearest Monsanto facility or symbol of American toxic agriculture.
Why? Both presidential candidates are avoiding the GMO issue because both candidates take money from Monsanto. Therefore its up to us to force them to take a position on GMOs.
Activism in all its forms is the best way to force political candidates to listen to the people. Signing petitions is activism-lite, while showing up at a campaign field office with signs, banners, megaphones, and staging a Decontamination Event is the type of activism that cannot be ignored.
Confirmed Decontamination Events:
+ Stand For No GMO’s at CANDIDATES OFFICES in Daytona Beach, Florida
+ Occupy the GMO Candidate – San Francisco, CA
+ Occupy Robamney – Omaha, NE
+ Occupy the GMO Candidate – Republican Party National Headquarters, Washington, DC
+ Occupy the GMO Candidate – Democratic Party National Headquarters, Washington, DC
If you plan on taking part, please e-mail the time, date, and the address of the candidate’s Field Office to October17@Occupy-Monsanto.com and we’ll add it to the list above.

Atlanta’s Food Supply Rescue Coalition Holds March Calling for End to Monsanto’s Genetically Engineered Food System.

Standing outside an Atlanta Kroger grocery store, food advocate Steven Wing reads lyrics to a crowd of protestors and curious shoppers.
“If you’re gonna play God with my food.
If you’re gonna play God and leave organic farmer’s screwed.
If you’re gonna play God with my decisions….
If you’re gonna play God I want a new religion.”
In a moment that is being referred to as “the food fight of the decade“, the lyrics to “Tell Us What You’re Growing“, written by an Arizona songwriter, Celia, couldn’t be more poignant.
The group of protesters is participating in the “Occupy Monsanto Global Day of Action”. They’re on a mission to raise awareness about lab-created genetically modified organisms (GMOs) within the food supply. With rally stops at five “Monsanto Points of Distribution” locations – Publix, Kroger, Home Depot, Whole Foods Market, and McDonald’s – the Occupy Monsanto Genetic Crimes Unit (GCU) declares each location a genetic crime scene for their sale of Monsanto’s toxic products.
“This is a decontamination zone”, declares Vince C. through a megaphone. He is dressed in a biohazard suit. “If you’ve been contaminated by Monsanto’s toxins, you’ll need to be tagged.” Shoppers are outfitted with special hospital wristbands to symbolize a health biohazard.
“There’s something wrong when the chemical manufacturer Monsanto, the same company that made Agent Orange, owns our commercial food supply”, says Food Supply Rescue Coalition‘s Jaye Crawford. Ms. Crawford, a fitness professional, mother, and food advocate, formed the FSRC in order to educate the community on the dangers of genetically engineered food. “It’s a shame. Consumers have no idea they’re eating Frankenfoods contaminated by Monsanto’s GMOs. Consumers don’t know because our government is corrupt. FDA, USDA, Monsanto are one of the same. We want a Monsanto-free food supply. We want labels. We want what 50 other countries and 40% of the world‘s population has, which is the right to know, and the right to choose what we eat,” says Crawford.
This “food fight” over genetically modified organisms has recently gained attention and the national spotlight. In November, Californians are poised to vote “yes” for the labeling of genetically engineered foods. Prop 37, a ballot initiative, would require food manufacturers to label products containing GMOs by 2013.
“We already have food labels showing nutrition, allergy information and other facts consumers want to know. This measure simply adds information telling us if food is produced using genetic engineering, which is when food is modified in a laboratory by adding DNA from other plants, animals, bacteria or viruses”, says Nina Roark, a concerned grandmother form Atlanta. “We’re hoping that the seeds of change blow from California to put an end to this GMO food insanity.”
With over $32 million in opposing donations to Prop 37, Roark reminds consumers, “Now more than ever, it’s crucial for consumers to choose manufacturer loyalties wisely. We have to vote hard with every food dollar we spend.”
Early voting for Prop 37 begins on October 9. Voting at polling locations takes place on November 6, 2012.
My name is Danielle Lapiano. I held an Occupy Monsanto action at New Mexico State University’s Student Union Corbett Center from 2pm to 6pm pretty much by myself. I wish I would have held it during lunch hours but I still managed to gather over 110 signatures for Organic Consumers Association “truth-in-labeling” and “Confined Animal Feeding Operations” CAFO’s labeled. Not bad for just me and one other person from Public Health Student Organization…who showed up at 5:00pm to help. I was interviewed by the student newspaper… I will post a link to that too. Of course he didn’t quote me exactly how I told him too… but it wasn’t too bad. Lol I am still working on more signatures.
